contact usAfter growing up in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, it was always a special place for us. Mid 2017, we had an opportunity to send a container of hospital equipment to help improve the medical facilities there. Ensuring every inch of space in that container was used, we filled the rest of the space with children's books for the local schools. We quickly realised the amount of surplus school resources in New Zealand was ever-growing and the bin was no place for a good book. Especially when schools in Papua New Guinea have little to no resources, meaning kids were going without an education.
Now, we send a container each year full to the brim of books and general school resources. Ready to give children the opportunity to gain an education by filling their libraries and classrooms with books and resources.
We have now built three school libraries across the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. All fully equipped using old school resources from New Zealand schools. Allowing kids to pick up a children's book for the first time in their life.
The school library before is often an empty room or full of unreadable, adult books. They were dirty, dark and not a space for learning.
We cleaned, painted the walls, installed electricity, built shelves, and filled them with readable, children's books. We finished by adding bean bags, toys and putting fun posters on the walls.

John and Jane met on a backpacking adventure in Nepal. John, a former sheep shearer, went on the trip to get some clarity about his next adventures in life. Jane — a Peloton instructor — went on the trip to explore the landscape in Nepal.
While on the trip, John and Jane realized that they had one common love — the love for hiking and the love for being outdoors.
Returning back to their home state of Oklahoma, John and Jane hatched a plan to launch a retail store centered around their passions.
While John handled the sourcing of goods and customer service, Jane focused on the web + e-commerce side of the business, building this website in the best design platform on the web — Webflow!
In 1989, John and Jane Doe officially launched Acme Outdoors, the premiere store for outdoor enthusiasts around the state.
To this day, John and Jane return to Nepal yearly to ensure that they never forget their roots and where they came from.
